_I have started to construct knives using pre-made blades, both from various suppliers and custom knife makers.  Kitchen/Paring, Fillet, and Utility/Hunting style knives are available as well as a few folder kits.  Most of the kits are from AUS-8A stainless steel, S30V, or D2 depending on the pattern.  Damascus from Two Finger Knife Co. is also available as an option as well as carbon steels like O-1, 52100 and 1095.  Two Finger Knife Co. can also make blades to customer specs/drawings, but there is usually a 3-5 week wait time.  I am currently in contact with other knife makers about having them construct blanks for me as well.  These will be more expensive, but will have kitchen knife patterns as well as other patterns available.  Also available will be the ability to re-handle some kitchen knives.  Many knives with the 2 or 3 large rivets in the handle can be re-handled and the Japanese style kitchen knives with the riveted or the "Wa" style handles can be redone.

Handle materials include woods, bone, Micarta, G10, Stabilized woods and burls and my own TAJ Laminate that I am making.  The TAJ Laminate consists of marine grade epoxy soaked fabrics, like cotton denim, linen ,or burlap that are layered up and then compressed while the epoxy hardens.  This produces a material similar to Micarta or G10, but with more colors available.

**Kitchen and Fillet knives come with Dexter blade guards.**
